Hey,

This isn't my usual email, but I need to share something with you.

Yesterday, 16 people were killed in a terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney during a Hanukkah celebration. One of them was a 10-year-old girl named Matilda.

I've met Matilda's mother. She cared for my lorikeet twice while I was away - she's a kindhearted, sweet soul who showed up for me when I needed help. She is the carer for my boyfriend's grandma. I can't even begin to imagine what she's going through right now.

When I found out about Matilda, I asked for a sign about whether I should help. I got clear confirmation in a way I can't ignore.

I just donated $500 to Matilda's GoFundMe, and I'm asking you to join me if you can.

Even $5 matters. Even $10 matters. This family is living every parent's worst nightmare.

If the link does not work, reply to this email and I will personally reach out to you.

Matilda was described by her language teacher as "a bright, joyful, and spirited child who brought light" to everyone around her.

Thank you for reading this. Thank you for caring.

Rita
